Miles for Music and Kim Stellino want to thank you for a fun filled and productive two years with our Pennsylvania event. Sponsors, Volunteers, and Participants all helped to create two excellent events. We’ve decided not to schedule another race event in Pennsylvania, but stay tuned for other fund-raising opportunities.

Miles for Music is growing, and spread to Pennsylvania when PA music teacher and runner, Kimberly Lennon, participated in the March 2013 New Jersey Miles for Music race with her own students. After viewing its success, she knew PA needed its own Miles for Music race! The first year was a great success and we’re excited to invite you to participate in the 2nd year of this exciting event in Pennsylvania.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will there be water on the course?
We’ll have 2 water stations set up on the course.
Are iPods or mp3 players allowed during the race?
The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, we encourage a headphone-free environment during the running of the event.
Please note that those competing for awards may not use such devices and will not be eligible for any award or prize money if such a device is worn. USATF rules state that the visible possession or use by athletes of such devices are prohibited.
Are baby joggers or strollers allowed during the race?
Yes, but you must start in the last corral and you may not impede other runners.
Where are the porta potties on the course/at the start?
There will be multiple porta potties placed at the start.
How long do I have to complete the race?
Please note that an 18 minute mile pace or faster is required for the 5k race distance. An 18 min. mile pace is roughly three miles per hour, equivalent to a brisk walk.
If you fall below this pace, the race organizers can no longer guarantee course support. Aid Stations, medical support, portable toilets, and road closures will begin to become unavailable to participants. The local police and race organizers will ask you to move up onto the sidewalk for your safety.
Where can my family see me on the course?
The best places for your family to see you is in the Festival area.
Is there a family reunion area?
The finish line and Festival area is the best place to meet your family after the event. All participants will funnel into the Refreshment Tent, so that’s your best place to reunite with participants.
