Hello Teachers, Coaches and other School Group Leaders!

We would like to invite your school to participate in the 2016 Miles for Music 1 Miler & 5K – Sunday, March 20, 2016 in Johnson Park in Highland Park, NJ. The Miles for Music 1 Miler & 5K is a great way to get kids excited about physical education, music education, community involvement, and reward them for their accomplishments.

As a school leader, you decide how active a role you want to take in the event. You can simply register your school and let each child register for the team with their parent’s help – via our secure online registration site. Or, you can take the lead for the school’s team, promote the event in your school, and register all the kids together via paper applications (downloadable below, or available from our office).

You’ll need at least 10 students, parents, or teachers on a team to qualify for funding, but all 10 team members do not have to register at the same time. Students, parents, and teachers can continue to join your school’s team via mail-in registration or our online registration site – subject to the following dates.

DEADLINES:

Schools must be registered by: Monday, March 7th, 2016

Mail-in registrations must be postmarked by: Friday, March 11th, 2016

Online registration must be completed by: Friday, March 18th, 2016

2016 RACE DAY SCHEDULE:

The Miles for Music 1 Miler & 5K will start at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2016 in Johnson Park – Highland Park, NJ. Kids and parents should arrive no later than 12:00 p.m. at the kids staging area located in Grove 2, by the Johnson Park Zoo (located at the juncture of River Road, Violet Drive and Johnson Park Drive), where we will have pre-event activities. Kids, parents, teachers and race officials will move from there to the Start Line together.

Q – How does my school become a Miles for Music school?

A – Miles for Music is available to all schools within New Jersey, New York, & Pennsylvania. If your school is not listed, please fill out the School Request Form and we will contact you with further information.

Q – Who should register our school?

A – One Miles for Music Team Leader from each school is designated as the point person for each school and is responsible for maintaining the school’s team.
